Riding Your Motorcycle With a Passenger
If you’re interested in ways to make your motorcycle rides more fun, adding a passenger is a great option. A friend, partner, or family member can join you on your rides, whether short or long so that you can adventure together. However, there are some things to keep in mind when you’re preparing to ride your motorcycle with a friend. Here’s what you need to do.
Make Sure You’re Ready
If you’re new to motorcycle riding, you probably don’t want to take anyone else on board just yet. You need to be fairly experienced at solo motorcycle riding before you add a second person to the bike. A passenger will change how your bike handles, which can be jarring for a new rider.
Equip Your Passenger With Safety Gear
Your rider needs to wear the same type of gear that you wear to keep yourself safe on the road. The most essential piece of gear is a well-fitting helmet with goggles or a face shield for head and eye protection. A riding jacket, gloves, and boots are good additions to this.
Determine Some Signals
Establishing a system of hand signals with your passenger will help make the ride easier. Figure out what will work for you so that you can make stops as needed or change how the ride is going.
